ARMENIA WILL PAY THE CURRENT DEBT FOR THE RUSSIAN GAS IN THE FIRST HALF OF FEBRUARY

PanARMENIAN.Net - 06.02.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Armenian Energy Minister Karen Galustian met in Moscow with representatives of "Itera" and "Gasprom" companies. The sides agreed that Armenia would pay the current debt for the gas supply in the first half of February 2001.

As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the Energy ministry of Armenia, the present debt, with the consideration of January gas supply, amounts to 2.86 million US dollars. The payment of the debt will be mainly realized at the expense of debit debts of the Armenian energy system.

Karen Galustian also held talks with representatives of Russian JSC "Common Energy Systems of Russia" ("RAO EES") in Moscow. At the meeting agreement was achieved on speeding up the works on establishing Armenian-Russian joint enterprise on the basis of Hrazdan thermoelectric power station. --0--
