GOVERNMENT SUGGESTS ALLOTTING 10% OF 2001 BUDGET TO PUBLIC HEALTH SPHERE

PanARMENIAN.Net - 18.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The Government of Armenia proposes to allot 10% of 2001 state budget to public health sphere, Minister for Public Health of Armenia Ararat Mkrtchian said today speaking in the National Assembly.

The minister noted that this amount (18 billion drams) is very insignificant and equals to the budget of 2 average clinics of a Western European state.

Mkrtchian also said that beginning in 2001 a competition for determining the medical institutions to offer free medical care to the population will be held. -0-
