ARMENIA HAS SCORED BIG SUCCESSES IN FOREIGN POLICY THIS YEAR

PanARMENIAN.Net - 13.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. "Armenia has made a great progress in foreign policy in 2000", the chairman of the parliamentary commission of Armenia for foreign affairs Hovanes Hovanisian stated in the interview to Mediamax.

Hovanisian especially pointed out the activization of the process of the international recognition of the 1915 Genocide of Armenians. Another big achievement the deputy named Armenia's actual membership in the Council of Europe, which will be officially registered in January 2001. Hovanisian stated that the absence of serious incidents on Armenian-Azeri border is also the result of the consistent work of Armenian diplomacy.

The parliamentarian noted that in 2001 all the efforts of Armenia in the foreign policy will be concentrated on the Karabakh conflict settlement. -0-
