ARMENIA SPENDS 8.2 PERCENT OF ITS GDP TO DEFENSE

PanARMENIAN.Net - 09.11.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Armenia spends 8.2 percent of its GDP to Defence, one of the heads of Defense Industry of Turkey Dursun Ali Ercan said.

The Turksih press writes that speaking about the necessity of developing the national defense industry based on high technology Ercan stressed that today Turkey assigns 4.2 percent of its gross national product to defense. Ercan said this figure is 7.2 percent in Syria, 6.8 percent in Iraq, 8.2 percent in Armenia, 4.7 percent in Greece, and 3.7 percent in Bulgaria. --0--
