Reforms in Armenia not carried out pro-forma![]() ![]() PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan expects a differentiated approach of assessing reforms in different countries from the Eastern Partnership summit to be held in Warsaw at late September, said President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. “I suppose that, first of all, assessments of carried out reforms in different countries must be differentiated,” the President said at a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart Bronislav Komorovsky. Besides, the head of Armenian state stressed that Armenia like any other country carries out reforms not for presenting certain reports but to follow the way of development. “Without implementation of reforms we do not see development and formation of a strong state and advanced society,” the President said. Mr.Sargsyan emphasized importance of making assessment based on results of reforms carried out and not other factors contradicting to the Eastern Partnership requirements. In turn, Polish President added that in the framework of Armenia-EU cooperation for Eastern Partnership Poland expects Armenia’s active involvement in Warsaw-hosted summit. Mr.Komarovsky underscored that the summit will also assess efficiency of using funds that have been allotted as part of assistance for reforms implementation, as well as the results. Moreover, the summit is a good opportunity for the program country-members to exchange experience, make corrections and discuss challenges EU faces. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
