THE SPEAKER OF THE ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT CALLS THE U.S. "TO REALIZE MORE SERIOUS INVESTMENTS"

"If the USA is really interested in establishing stability in Armenia and in the region, then more serious investments should be made", declared the speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Armen Khachatrian in the interview to a "Boston Globe" journalist Miles Pamper. The full text was published today in "Hayastani Hanrapetutiun" parliamentary paper.

"The question of allotment of the World Bank SAC-4 credit has been dragging on for several months already and this brings to the gap in the budget, to new debts and new tenseness", Khachatrian said.

According to the speaker, today the programs stimulating the development of small and bigger businesses should be given preference to. "These programs will promote the establishment of peace and stability in the region. With the improvement of the social status the population will display more balanced approach to the possible compromises in the question of Karabakh issue settlement", said Armen Khachatrian. -0-
