Armenian opposition gives authorities till September, coalition in no hurry August 4, 2011 - 17:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Unless opposition-coalition dialogue yields any results till September, Armenian National Congress (ANC) will consider the possibilities of a political dialogue with the authorities exhausted, according to the head of ANC delegation. As Levon Zurabyan stated on completion of the 3rd meeting of opposition and coalition groups in the framework of a dialogue, the condition set might be neglected in case a favourable agreement is reached and approved by the people. “Such a result will come as a proof of a right course of negotiations, which might secure successful settlement of the issue.” As the oppositionist further noted, ANC expects the dialogue to yield specific results, rather than be one in a series of useless negotiations. According to Zurabyan, ANC demands punishment for policemen who attacked the demonstrators before August 2 rally, as well as investigation into transportation issues during election period, which should restore people’s trust and promote effectiveness of dialogue. The head of coalition group, David Harutyunyan, however, noted demands and ultimatums to be unacceptable during a dialogue, which should only aim towards reaching progress on the issue.
