THE ARMENIAN PRESIDENT AWARDED ORDERS AND MEDALS TO A LARGE GROUP OF SERVICEMEN

On the occasion of the national holiday - the Independence Day, the President of Armenia Robert Kocharian signed a decree about awarding orders and medals to a large group of military who have distinguished themselves in the defense of the Armenian borders.

As was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press office of the President of Armenia, about 100 military, several among them posthumously, have been awarded a "Battle Cross" of 2nd rank, medals "For war services" and "For courage".

Among the awarded are members of volunteer detachments, formed before the establishment of the national army, as well as officers, who continue to serve in the system of the Defense Ministry of Armenia.

The president of Armenia also signed an order about awarding Movses Khorenatsi medals to a group of eminent intelligentsia representatives. -0-
