RAIDS ON OFFICES OF HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCATES IN AZERBAIJANApril 29, 2003 - 23:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A group of activists of "Eni Azerbaijan" ruling party held a picket in front of the office of the Institute of Peace and Democracy leaded by human rights advocate Leila Yunus. As reported by Russian media, they protested against Leila Yunus' cooperation with human rights proponent Eldar Zeynalov, who had visited Nagorno Karabakh the other day. The action participants demanded to expel Leila Yunus and Eldar Zeynalov along with other human rights proponents from the country. The other day activists of the ruling party organized similar action also in front of the office of Eldar Zeynalov, against whom pro-governmental media has recently launched a real persecution. Then action participants attacked the office with the slogan "Away from Azerbaijan," being instigated by calls over the TV by former public prosecutor of Baku, one of the current leaders of "Musavat" opposition party Chingiz Ganiyev "to punish the enemies."
