COMPARED TO THE LAST YEAR RECORDS, THE NUMBER OF THE ARMENIAN CHILDREN ILL WITH SYPHILIS, HAS INCREASED 5 TIMES

In the period of January-May 2000 the number of up to 14-year-old Armenian children, ill with syphilis, has increased 5 times if compared to the same period in 1999. The Yerevan paper "Haykakan Zhamanak" informed this today, referring to official statistic data.

Besides, writes the paper, the sickness rate with tuberculosis through the respiratory tract among the children has increased to 136 per cent, those with bacterial dysentery - to 41 per cent. -0-
