ARMENIA MADE PUNISHMENT FOR ACTS OF TERRORISM AND KILLING POLITICIANS SEVERER

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian president has signed the law passed by the parliament on introducing changes in the Criminal Code. According to them, people serving life imprisonment for committing especially grave crimes, are deprived of the right of being pardoned. As earlier stated by bill sponsors - representatives of "Justice" opposition bloc - the changes are first of all introduced for all criminals, who committed the act of terrorism in the Armenian parliament in October 1999, could not count on pre-term conditional release. It should be reminded that prime minister Vazgen Sargsian, National Assembly speaker Karen Demirchian, vice-speakers, a minister and three deputies were killed in an act of terrorism October 27, 1999. It should also be noted that the state prosecution has called to sentence five of the immediate executors of the crime to life imprisonment.
