CE FOR ARMENIA DEVELOPING BORDER COOPERATION WITH NEIGHBORS AT LEVEL OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES

PanARMENIAN.Net - At a session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe (CE) November 25 a decision was passed on further democratization of local self-government in Armenia. One of the provisions of the document commissioned to consider the opportunity of holding a forum in Yerevan on issues of developing border cooperation of Armenia with neighbor countries at the level of local authorities, the press service of the foreign ministry of Armenia reported. The Azeri delegation came against it, proposing to exclude the item in question from the decision. However, the majority of Congress participants voted down the initiative of Azerbaijan.
