ARMENIA IN GROUP OF COUNTRIES WITH "AVERAGE" INTERNET USENovember 20, 2003 - 21:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - According to the results of a research held by the International Union of Telecommunications on the rate of Internet use, Armenia is in the "average" group. As reported by "Mediamax" agency, countries comprised by "Digital Access Index - 2002" research appeared to divide into 4 groups - in compliance with the rate of Internet use (number of connections per capita). There were 25 countries in the "top" group, 40 - "beyond average," 58 - "average" and 55 - "low." The first place in the first group was occupied by Sweden (with index of 0.85), Denmark was the second (0.83) and Iceland and South Korea shared the third place (0.82 each). In the third group, where the UAE, Egypt and India are included, Belarus occupied the first place (0.49), while Armenia was the last (0.30). Azerbaijan, having the indicator of 0.24 was in the last, fourth, group. The research was not held in Georgia.
