ARMENIA TO PRESIDE TRACECA PROGRAM IN 2004

PanARMENIAN.Net - The third annual conference of the intergovernmental commission of TRACECA program, in the course of which Armenia will be elected the presiding country for year 2004, is to start in Yerevan October 9. As reported to Arminfo agency in the Armenian ministry of transport and communications, over 10 programs for the most part regarding the technical contribution to a number of projects, are to be discussed during the conference. Technical-economic grounds for the reconstruction of the railway communication of Yerevan-Nakhichevan-Baku line will be also viewed at the conference. Besides, the sitting of the leaders of railway, port and maritime companies will direct its activity towards the harmonization of the transport systems of the program member-states and towards the curtailment of transport expenditures. To note, TRACECA program for creation of Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia unites 13 countries.
