VARDAN OSKANIAN IN SESSION OF COUNCIL OF CIS FOREIGN MINISTERS IN YALTA

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Yalta meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member countries is devoted to the development of international processes within the Commonwealth framework. The ministers, including Armenian minister Vardan Oskanian, discuss issues to be submitted to the summit of leaders of the CIS states September 18-19. Specifically, as reported by "ITAR-TASS" agency, signing of a document on Joint Economic Area of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan is expected. The agenda of the ministerial conference also includes the issue of control over selling "Igla" and "Strela" anti-aircraft missile complexes in the CIS. The ministers are expected to extend the mandate of the commander of collective peacekeeping forces in Abkhazia. It should be noted that after Yalta the foreign ministers will leave for New York to participate in the 58-th session of the UN General Assembly. Thereupon, comparison of positions on key world problems ranks high in the working discussions of the heads of the foreign departments. These include situation around Iraq and the Middle East, joint efforts for struggle against international terrorism.
