ARMENIAN PRESIDENT FILED OMBUDSMAN NOMINATION

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian president Robert Kocharian announced the ombudsman's candidacy in the National Assembly. According to a report of the RA NA, chairwoman of the "Foundation Against Illegality" NGO Larisa Alaverdian has been nominated to the post. The parliamentary factions and groups are to consider the candidacy nominated and speak on the subject till February 10. To note, the ombudsman is an independent official, who proceeding from the RA Constitution and norms of jus cogens will defend human rights and freedom oppressed by state services as well as the bodies of local self-government and their representatives.
