MONUMENT TO COSSACKS - HEROES OF RUSSIAN-TURKISH AND RUSSIAN-PERSIAN WARS TO BE ERECTED IN YEREVAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - October 9, 2005 a memorial to Cossacks, who took part in the Russian-Turkish and Russian-Persian wars, will be opened in Yerevan, reported the Yerkramas, the newspaper of Armenians of Russia. The decision to open the monument is taken by Novy Nakhichevan Armenian community along with Yerevan City Administration. The initiative was approved by atamans of Don and Kuban Cossacks. The monument will be set in Kanaker Yerevan community, where the Cossack regiment was situated during the Russian-Turkish war.
