Association of Hamshen Armenians publishes first issue of the Hamshen magazine in Moscow

PanARMENIAN.Net - The first issue of the "Hamshen" magazine, a periodical of Hamshen Armenians was published in Moscow. The Magazine is published by the Moscow-based Association of Hamshen Armenians.



The first issue of the magazine begins with the editorial and greetings from the spiritual leader of Abkhazian Armenians, hieromonk Taron Gulikyan and Vice President of the International Association against Drug Abuse and Drug Trafficking Hakob Matosyan. Readers can find latest news and information about activities of the Association, the historical materials on Hamshen and the life of Armenians in Abkhazia in the magazine.



Association of Hamshen Armenians started operating on February 11, 2007. the Association mainly gathered young people with strong interest not only in the culture and history of Hamshen Armenians, but the Armenian history and culture in general. The Association is aimed at preserving and restoring the culture, folklore and heritage of Hamshen Armenians, strengthening national consciousness and identity, promoting Hamshen dialect of the Armenian language, learning the Armenian literature and history, developing Russian-Armenian cultural cooperation.
