Global Environment Facility to provide USD10 million to Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Over the past 18 years, Global Environment Facility (GEF) has invested USD 18 million in Armenian ecology sector, according to GEF CEO Monique Barbut.

As she told a news conference in Yerevan, the funds allocated aim to promote environmental protection and energy effectiveness.

“For the next 3 years, USD10 million will be provided to Armenia for the development of program to overcome land degradation. The issue is especially vital in Armenia, where 85% of land is seriously degraded,” Ms. Barbut stressed.
