Darts tournament kicks off in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - A darts tournament is going to be held in Yerevan under the motto "Sports of equal possibilities." The tournament is due to take place April 5 at the entertainment center "No Problem" in time for the Mother's Day. It is aimed at drawing public attention to the problems of women invalids, and particularly to the issues regarding the protection of the rights o f handicapped people.



The tournament has been organized by a non-governmental organization "Bridge of Hope" with the assistance of an International organization "Mission East" and the agency of International Development of Denmark.



Unlike the last year tournament, this year, besides the media and the members of the non-governmental organizations dealing with the problems of handicapped people, honorable guests will also participate in the tournament.



This has been second dart tournament.



The first one conducted last year was initiated by the same organizers and included 60 participants.



"Dart tournament is remarkable for giving participation chance to handicapped people. Famous sportsmen and Armenian show business representatives will join this year's tournament. Our main goal is to draw public's attention to the problems of handicapped people," the tournament organizer Zarui Batoyan told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.



"We'd like to make people understand that the physically challenged are also part of our society. This is why our tournaments are conducted under the motto "Sport of equal possibilities"."
