Smbat Margaryan wins the title of first champion at European championship in weightlifting up to 23 years

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian team has had a good start in the first ever European Championships in weightlifting up to 23 years, held in the Polish city of Vladislavovo. On the first day of the tournament in the men's championship weightlifters in the weight category up to 56 kg competed. The representative of Armenia Smbat Margaryan has won the title of first champion at the European championship in weightlifting up to 23 years. Armenian weightlifter in the double-event lifted 238 kg (104 - dash, 125 - momentum), thus becoming the first champion of the Old World championship in this age category. The silver medal was earned by the Moldovan sportsman Gennady Dudoglo, who lifted a total 237 kg. A representative of Turkey Gokhan Kilic took the bronze (233 kg).



Today, Vanik Avetisyan (w/ c 62 kg) will represent Armenia at the European scene.

The Armenian team is represented by 9 weightlifters in the seven weight categories at the European Championship to 23 years.
