PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian sustained his first defeat from Israel's Boris Gelfand at Mikhail Tal Memorial 2009. Thus, Gelfand passed 0.5 point ahead of Aronian, who gained 3 points in all.



Vasily Ivanchuk (Ukraine) defeated Alexander Morozevich (Russia). Magnus Karlsen vs. Vishwanathan Anand (India) and Peter Leko (Hungary) vs. Peter Svindler (Russia) games ended in a draw.
