Aronyan wins 1st round game of Grand Slam Chess Masters

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian GM Levon Aronian scored a victory over China’s Wang Hao in the 1st round of Grand Slam Chess Masters which kicked off in Shanghai, China, on September 3, 2010.

Russia’s Vladimir Kramnik and Spain’s Alexey Shirov tied their game.

Aronian tops the standings with 1 point.

The two winners of the Shanghai tournament, together with Viswanathan Anand (India) and Magnus Carlsen (Norway), will participate in the Grand Slam Final tournament in Bilbao, Spain, from October 9 to 15, 2010.
