LOS ANGELES MAYOR SUPPORTED AMERICAN ARMENIANS' CAMPAIGN AGAINST GENOCIDE

PanARMENIAN.Net - Mayor of Los Angeles James Hahn fully supported the campaign on genocide prevention launched by the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA). As is well known, on the ANCA's initiative about 50 000 postcards in support to the bill dedicated to the 15-th anniversary of the adoption of the Resolution on Genocide prevention were sent to the US Congressmen within the framework of the campaign. To note, the bill submitted to discussion in the Congress mentions the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey as well. In the words of ANCA's executive director Artashes Kekhanian, the speech of Los Angeles's mayor will serve as an extra signal for the Congressmen to put the bill on the Congress agenda. Let us remind that about 100 US organizations are for the adoption of the bill on genocide.
