Old-timer parliamentary candidate unwilling to face defeat![]() May 11, 2012 - 14:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Victor Dallakyan, who joined the ruling Republican Party of Armenia ahead of the parliamentary vote and ran by majority system in constituency 30, calls for cancellation of voting results in this area. Losing to independent candidate Edmon Marukyan, Dallakyan addressed the local electoral commission to nullify the voting results. RPA member says Marukyan has not permanently resided in Armenia for the past 5 years, and his victory should therefore be recognized invalid. When asked by a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter to comment on this move, Dallakyan said he leaves comments to journalists. Dallakyan has been member of the National Assembly since 1995 as an independent deputy. Parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on May 6. According to the data received from all of 1982 polling stations, parties and blocs gained the following number of votes: Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) – 663 066 (44,05 %) Prosperous Armenia Party – 454 684 (30,20 %) Heritage party - 87 095 (5,79 %) Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc – 106 910 (7,10 %) ARF Dashnaktsutyun – 86 296 (5,73 %) Orinats Yerkir – 82 690 (5,49 %) Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA) – 5 633 (0,37 %) Communist Party of Armenia – 15 933 (1,06 %) United Armenians party – 3 080 (0,20 %). ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
