Diaspora Minister meets Armenian veterans of French Resistance

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today, on May 14, Armenian Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan met with veterans of the French Resistance.

Minister Hakobyan thanked all those present for their outstanding heroism, highlighting their role in boosting Armenian-French relations.

“Due to the image you created about Armenians, the French government always treats you with gratitude and respect. Thank you for maintaining Armenian identity,” she said.

Minister Hakobyan further noted that French Armenians headed by Antoine Bagdikian responded to her request on provision of Armenian Genocide materials.

Mr. Bagdikian, in turn, said that a book was written portraying the heroic participation of Armenians in World Wars staring from 1914. The meeting further featured presentation of a video disc of unique interviews and documents depicting Armenian volunteers’ participation in the French Resistance.
