NUMBER OF CRIMES INCREASED IN ARMENIA AS COMPARED WITH LAST YEARJuly 7, 2004 - 19:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - 4251 crimes are registered in Armenia from January to May 2004, 1431 out of them being grave ones. According to the data provided by the information center of the Police of Armenia, the number of crimes is 385 more than within the same period of 2003. 1268 crimes were committed against the state service system, in 26 cases out of them violence was used against authority representatives. According to the source, 1656 crimes of stealing property were registered from January to May 2004, 202 cases out of these referring to state or public property and 1342 - to private property. Most crimes are registered in Shirak region - 394, while the least is in Vayots Dzor - 62. 1851 crimes were registered in Yerevan within January-May this year. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
