Armenian ambassador to China participates in ESCAP meeting![]() May 25, 2012 - 20:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On May 21-24, Armenia's Ambassador to China Armen Sargsyan participated in 68th meeting of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in Bangkok. The envoy briefed those present on Armenia’s achievements in the framework of implementation of Sustainable Development Programs. He further dwelt on issues related to withstanding the financial and economic crisis, poverty reduction, government’s steps towards development of rural areas, nuclear energy, opening of the North-South corridor and construction of Armenia-Iran railway. Resolutions on ESCAP’s further activity were adopted upon completion of the meeting. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
