APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE OF US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES VOTED FOR PARITY IN MILITARY AID TO ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJANJuly 12, 2004 - 20:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Appropriations Committee of the US House of Representatives approved the budget for 2005, according to which the amount of economic assistance to be rendered to Armenia will comprise $65 million. Besides the budget maintains the parity in the military aid to Armenia and Azerbaijan by allocating $5 million to each. Thus, as reported by the Armenian Assembly of America, the Committee rejected the proposals of the Bush Administration calling for $62 million assistance to Armenia, a four times more military aid to Azerbaijan and excluding any assistance to Nagorno-Karabakh.
