Baku deems Israel’s attack against Iran from Azerbaijan possible![]() June 11, 2012 - 21:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of State Committee of Azerbaijan on Work with Diaspora said he can neither confirm nor deny the possibility of Israeli armed forces to attack Iran's nuclear facilities from air base in Azerbaijan. “All these unverified statements are rumors. However, I wouldn’t refute the information. I wouldn’t like Israel to bomb Iran, which is home to 35 ethnic Azeris,” Israeli source quoted Nazim Ibrahimov as saying. Earlier, U.S. magazine Foreign Policy reported that official Baku permitted Israel to make use of five military bases, which ceased operating during the Soviet Union’s break-up. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
