ARMENIAN PRESIDENT MET WITH IRANIAN LEADER

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian had a private meeting with Iranian leader Mohammad Khatami, being in Yerevan on a two-day official call. As reported by the Press Service of the Armenian President, the heads of the two countries discussed a range of issues referring to Armenian-Iranian relations, cooperation between the two states, as well as exchanged views on regional and international problems. The two Presidents noted that by means of strengthening multilateral regional cooperation favorable atmosphere for settlement of regional conflicts could be formed. Armenian-Iranian extended composition talks followed the tete-a-tete conversation of R. Kocharian and M. Khatami. Upon their conclusion the Presidents signed an Agreement on the Principles and Foundations of Cooperation between Iran and Armenia. Bilateral documents on cooperation in energy, culture and customs control were also signed.
