ARMENIAN AND ITALIAN FMs DISCUSSED PROSPECTS OF ARMENIA'S EUROINTEGRATION

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yesterday Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian arrived in Italy, where he met with his Italian counterpart Franco Frattini. As reported by the press service of the RA Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed a wide range of bilateral and international issues taking into account the prospects of the Armenian-Italian cooperation in various fields. Special attention was paid to the priority directions and economic development programs in Armenia. During the meeting the parties agreed on expansion of the contractual-legal field for attracting Italian investments in Armenia. The Italian side welcomed Armenia's consistent steps for the consolidation of democracy in the country. The interlocutors also discussed the prospects of Armenia's eurointegration within the frames of the new neighborhood policy. The FMs gave detailed consideration to the pressing issues of international policy, in part, to the Karabakh issue as well as to the present condition of the Armenian-Turkish relations. On the same day at dinnertime the Armenian Foreign Minister met with Senate Vice Speaker Lambert Deni, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Lower Chamber Umberto Ranieri and Deputy Foreign Minister Margerita Boniveri. In the evening Vardan Oskanian visited Vatican. Today the Armenian Minister is to deliver a speech during "South Caucasus: stability and safety of the region" round-table discussions organized by the Institute of the Italian Foreign Ministry together with the Armenian Embassy in Rome.
