TO ADDRESS CONFERENCE ON WOMEN ADVANCEMENT IN YEREVANOctober 22, 2004 - 19:06 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Ms. Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Council of Europe Deputy Secretary General, will give an opening address at the conference ''For the advancement of Women - Armenian National Plan in Action'' opening in Yerevan, organised on the occasion of the launch of the Armenian National Programme on Improvement of Women's Status and their Social Roles. The aim of the Conference is to enforce the implementation of the National Action Plan, as well as to establish a dialogue between state officials, representatives of civil society and the invited experts, in order to highlight the main obstacles for women's advancement and to explore new approaches to gender equality. It should be noted that during her visit to Yerevan, the Deputy Secretary General of the CoE will also have meetings with the representatives of the Armenian Government and the Parliament.![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
