Ed Sheeran, Pink Floyd confirmed for Olympics closing ceremony

PanARMENIAN.Net - Singer-songwriter to play Wish You Were Here – though which Floyd members will be appearing is still unknown.

Ed Sheeran is to perform with some combination of the surviving members of Pink Floyd at the Olympics closing ceremony on 12 August. The Brit award-winning singer-songwriter is to perform one song, he told the Australian radio station Nova.

"I'm playing the closing ceremony – which I think is kinda cool, right? A lot of people think that I'm doing a song with the Who but I'm not – I'm doing a song with Pink Floyd. I'm doing Wish You Were Here."

Sheeran said that not all the three remaining members of Pink Floyd would be involved, but that drummer Nick Mason would be playing. It remains to be seen whether either David Gilmour or Roger Waters, who have spent decades feuding over the band's legacy since Waters left in 1985, will take to the stage, The Guardian reported.
