Armenian Cause Office head denies info on all Armenians’ readiness to flee Syria

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of Armenian Cause Office refuted information suggesting all Armenian community representatives stand ready to flee Syria.

“Statements conveying Syrian Armenians’ willingness to leave the country stir up panic,” Kiro Manoyan told a press conference, noting maintenance and ensuring security as the community’s main goal.

Dwelling on the statements, claiming that Armenian community backs President Bashar Al-Assad, Mr. Manoyan noted that it holds a neutral stance on the issue, conditioning the positive attitude to Syria’s current leader by Assad dynasty’s goodwill to religious and national minorities.

“I don’t believe that power shift will negatively affect the national and religious minorities,” he said.
