Though residents staged different actions to draw attention, they went unnoticed. Recently, they were offered compensation by Binagadi district administration. However, the residents, mostly refugees from Armenia, assessed the compensation insufficient. Attempts were made to block Ziya Bunyadov Avenue in protest against the demolition of houses. Police arrived. The residents pledged to take all measures to have the amount of the compensation increased. In Objective TV program, a group of female protesters demanded they be sent back to Armenia, threatening to set their houses on fire. A woman, outraged by Azeri authorities’ disregard, reiterated demand to be sent back to Armenia, threatening self-immolation.
