MILLENIUM CHALLENGE ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE $175 TO ARMENIAN GOVERNMENTMarch 31, 2005 - 10:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has arranged the package of proposals, which will be presented tothe Millennium Challenge Account, Regnum news agency reported. In the course of the sitting of the Board of Trustees of the MCA Armenian Program March 25 the proposal program, worked out by international and local experts for getting funding within the Account framework was discussed. In compliance with the Program, the Armenian Government expects to receive financial assistance of approximately $175 million, which will be spent on strategic investments in irrigation and restoration of roads between the regions. The Program is specifically directed at stimulating and providing rapid growth of the economic activities in the regions of Armenia. The council headed by the Prime Minister of Armenia has approved the Armenian Program, which is submitted to the MCA. The agreement final language will be ready after the talks between the Armenian Government and MCA. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
