KANSAS ADJUTANT GENERAL AWARDED DRASTAMAT KANAYAN MEDAL

PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary of the National Security Council at the Armenian President, Defense Minister Serge Sargsian today received Adjutant General of US Kansas State Tod Banting, reported Press Secretary of the Defense Ministry of Armenia Colonel Seyran Shahsuvarian. In the course of the meeting Serge Sargsian asked to convey his gratitude to Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius for the State recognition of the Armenian Genocide and announcing April 24 the Commemoration Day of the Genocide Victims. In the course of the conversation the Minister noted the importance of bilateral cooperation in the peacekeeping and health spheres. He also noted that development of relations in other directions is not ruled out. The parties also said they were satisfied with the cooperation between the Defense Ministry of Armenian and the Kansas National Guard that had started 2 years ago, spread on a range of civil spheres. The Defense Minister awarded Tod Banting with Drastamat Kanayan medal. US Ambassador to Armenia John Evans also took part in the meeting.
