NATO DISCUSSED ARMENIA IPAP

PanARMENIAN.Net - A joint session of the NATO Military and Political Planning Committee and the NATO and Armenia Political Committee was held in the NATO Headquarters July 12. The session initiated b the Alliance aimed at additional discussion of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) of Armenia with the NATO. The document was discussed at the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council sitting June 16 with participation of Armenian FM V. Oskanian, who presented the document. The sitting was chaired by NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the South Caucasus Robert Simmons. Deputy FM of Armenia Arman Kirakosyan, Deputy Defense Minister Artur Aghabekyan, Armenia's Envoy to the NATO Samvel Mkrtchyan and Military Representative David Tonoyan participated in the meeting as part of the Armenian delegation. A. Kirakosyan and A. Aghabekyan IPAP explained the political aims, matters of defense reforms. Representatives of the NATO member states has appreciated the IPAP Presentation Document drawn up by Armenia.
