Maria Baraghamyan voiced confidence that effective programs are being developed to benefit the sector. “Our capital doesn’t have a tourist landmark. Events are organized to introduce Yerevan as a tourist destination abroad,” she told a press conference. “Yerevan attracts tourist flows from Italy, France, Germany, CIS countries, the UK and Iran. 3d photo albums enabling the tourists to see the must-see attractions in the city are compiled,” Ms Baraghamyan said, noting Republic Square, Cascade Complex, Yerevan History Museum as popular tourist destinations. Culture and Tourism Department of Yerevan Municipality has operated for over a year, with measures already specified to target the city’s further development. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan.
