ACCORDING TO INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR JUSTICE VERDICT, GENOCIDE DEFINITION APPLIES TO MASSACRE OF ARMENIANS IN OTTOMAN TURKEY IN 1915February 12, 2003 - 21:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - By the resolution of the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) the term genocide applies to the massacre of 1.5 million Armenians in Ottoman Turkey in 1915. As reported by "Arminfo" agency referring to RFE/RL, the decision was made on the basis of the analysis done by the Armenian-Turkish reconciliation commission. Let us note that the commission had earlier appealed to the international legal structure calling to facilitate the independent analysis of applicability of the UN Genocide Convention to the massacre of Armenians in Ottoman Turkey at the beginning of the XX century. Being located in New York, the ICTJ deals with countries, where repression, armed conflicts and historical injustice take place.
