Presidential candidate says won’t cast ballot in election

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian presidential candidate, former Artsakh Foreign Minister Arman Melikyan has said that he will not cast ballot at the Feb 18 election and will not accept its results.

“From the first day of the campaign, I declared that the legitimacy of the presidential elections is endangered, as the polls will be forged through illegal counting of the votes of citizens who have departed from Armenia, in favor of the authorities’ candidate,” Melikyan said in a statement.

Once again, in Armenia, we are on the threshold of another electoral forgery… I am forced, in advance, to declare that the illegal course of the elections is predetermined by the authorities, and due to their approaches and practice, the results of the elections cannot be lawful and legitimate,” he said.
