Seven Syrian Armenians start businesses in homeland

PanARMENIAN.Net - Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center (SME DNC of Armenia) presented certificates to 35 Syrian Armenians, who attended series of “Good start” seminars.

As the executive director of the center Varazdat Karapetyan said, seven Syrian Armenians already started their businesses in such fields as old furniture restoration, production of high-pressure pumps, sewing workshop, etc, with 20 others to join them in the near future.

Mr Karapetyan further noted that the government allocated about AMD 100 mln as outreach to Syrian Armenian businessmen, with AMD 5 mln already spent.

Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan, in turn, voiced hope that Syrian Armenians will start businesses and contribute to the development of Armenia.
