1600th Anniversary of Armenian Letters Marked in Orel

PanARMENIAN.Net - An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Armenian letters was held in the Russian town of Orel. As reported by Yerkramas, the newspaper of Armenians of Russia, the event was organized by an Armenian youth organization and was attended by the representatives of the town administration and a number of cultural and youth organizations. A performance about the history of creation of the Armenian letters by St. Mesrop Mashtots was shown. Elocutionists presented statements by outstanding people in the Armenian language, children danced national dances and sang songs.
