Ohanyan dispels concerns over Russia’s weaponry sale to Baku

PanARMENIAN.Net - Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan commented on Russia’s sale of military hardware to Azerbaijan.

“Surely, we’re concerned over Azerbaijan’s arming. However, high level of strategic partnership with Russia makes us confident that the regional parity will be preserved,” the official told a news conference on the sidelines of a forum on political and defense guidelines for formation of the military components of the CSTO.

“A new document was signed allowing for direct military and technical contracts between military-industrial complexes of Armenia and Russia. So the situation is under control,” he noted.

“Azeri government is attempting to draw Armenia into its armament drive. We have no intention to blindly follow the Azeri lead, with Armenia putting more stress on quality rather than quantity,” the military official said.
