Defense Minister: Armenia is the guarantor of Karabakh people’s safety

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia is the guarantor of Nagorno Karabakh people’s safety, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said.

In case of resumption of hostilities against NKR, Armenia will have to stop the aggressor, Minister Ohanyan said when addressing a forum on political and defense guidelines for formation of the military components of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

“Armenia is a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which has an important role in ensuring security in the South Caucasus and possesses powerful potential and decision-making mechanisms,” he said.

The Minister also noted that the situation in the region remains complex due to various political, economic and strategic reasons. “Armenia, its unique geographical position, is interested in resolution of the problems and establishment of stability in the region,” he said.
