Normal Relations with Neighbors - One of Turkey's Commitments for EU Membership

PanARMENIAN.Net - The opening of borders with the neighbor states is an essential condition for the EU-Turkey talks, EU Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner stated at a press conference in Yerevan. Enjoying good relations with all the neighbor states is one of Turkey's commitments for the EU membership. The agenda of the talks with Turkey contains this item. We have always stressed the necessity of regional cooperation," she noted.



According to Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian, Turkey's position is unchangeable. This state is not going to open borders with Armenia what certainly tells on the situation in the region. "Armenia fully share the EU's position on this issue," the Armenian Minister said.
