NSC discontinues Oskanian case after ex-FM’s confession![]() July 24, 2013 - 14:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The National Security Council discontinued criminal persecution against Vartan Oskanian after the ex-foreign minister admitted to putting the money donated by American philanthropist Jon Hunstman to Civilitas foundation to personal use, considering it his own share in a deal. Oskanian father refunded the taxable amount from $250.795,26 totaling around $50 000 to the state, also transferring the donation of $1,086 million plus the interest payment to Civilitas foundation. Considering Oskanian’s confession and the refunded sum, it was ruled to requalify the money-laundering accusation into large-scale tax evasion, with the case discontinued. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
