Armenia's Stance Regarding Karabakh Unchanged

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Stance regarding Nagorno Karabakh remains unchanged: the NK right to self-determination outside Azerbaijan should be in effect, security guarantees, return of refugees and Karabakh participation in the talks, stated co-chair of EU-Armenia Commission on Parliamentary Cooperation, Chair of the Standing Commission on Foreign Relations of the Armenian NA Armen Rustamyan. In his words, during the 8th session of parliamentary delegations of Armenia and EU the Armenian party also raised the question of destruction of the Armenian cemetery in Nakhichevan.



The Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic as part of the former Soviet Union had the highest autonomy status, however Armenians were expelled from there. According to the data of 1927, Armenians formed 40% of the NAR, while there is none left there today. You also saw the lot of the Armenian cultural legacy in that territory. Being aware of all of it, how do you imagine the NK people will ever agree to be part of Azerbaijan - even provided the highest autonomy status,» he said.
