Shanghai Film Festival completes competition line-up

PanARMENIAN.Net - The upcoming Shanghai International Film Festival has completed its main competition line-up with the addition of four more recent movies, Variety said.

The fest (14-22 June) has added Brad Anderson’s thriller “Eliza Graves”, Aaron Wilson’s wartime adventure “Canopy,” “The Sacred Arrow,” by China’s Pema Tseden, and “The Target,” the Korean thriller that last month appeared in official selection, out of competition in Cannes. Directed by Chang (real name Yoon Hong-seung), the film is a remake of French thriller “Point Blank.”

The four additions, bring to 15 the total number of films competing for Shanghai’s Golden Goblet prize (see below for complete list).

The awards will be made by a jury that is headed by Chinese actress Gong Li and also includes the UK’s Sally Potter, Korean director Im Sangsoo (“The Housemaid”), Japanese director Shunji Iwai (“All About Lily Chou-Chou”), Chinese director Liu Jie (“Courthouse on Horseback,”), Iran’s Payman Maadi (“About Elly” as actor), and Denmark’s Lone Scherfig (“Italian For Beginners”.)
